These little super-detailed life sized bat skull replicas are the perfect pieces for your studies of anatomy or as display pieces in your collection of tiny curios. Most of these are printed from models made with CT scans (with the exception of the Natterer's Bat) and are highly detailed and as anatomically accurate as possible. They're hollow and when held up to the light you can see the delicate interior structures of the skull (these are most visible in the white unpainted version, which allows light to pass through cleanly). They're about as close to the real thing as you can get without any dead bats! (Why buy replicas? Learn more about the ethics of collecting bats here!)

These are also available ready to display in protective and attractive glass domes! Want even more bat skulls, from tiny life sized to unsettlingly large? Check out my full range of bat skull replicas!

When purchasing the full set: Please be aware that the Natterer's Bat is available in only a single type, with the mouth slightly open. It is not available with a fully closed mouth, or with the cranium and mandible separated. When you order the set you will receive that type of Natterer's Bat, regardless of what type you've chosen for the rest of your skulls, but it will come in the same color you've selected (white or aged).

The models have been thickened slightly to make them more printable and more durable; the structures of the original scans are so thin and delicate that they tend to tear like wet tissue paper during printing! Please bear in mind that because they are slightly thickened, if you purchase the version with separated mandible and cranium that they might not fit perfectly together, and might not be able to be fully closed without risking breakage. I've tried to communicate the skull sizes with the product photos, but you can also click on the "measurements" tab below to see a full list of dimensions.

Note for educators: Because these replicas are fairly fragile just like real bat skulls, I wouldn't recommend them for direct handling for students under university age. (Of the options available, the closed-mouth versions are the most sturdy, but "sturdy" isn't really a word I'd apply to these in general.) If you'd like to use them for education there may be display options like frames or display cases that will allow for close examination without students directly handling the delicate pieces; contact me and we can talk about your specific needs.
