Life-Sized Hammer-headed Bat Skull Replica (Male or Female)
Life-Sized Hammer-headed Bat Skull Replica (Male or Female)
Ever wondered how weird a hammer-headed bat's skull looks? Now you know! These unusually large-snooted bats are the largest bat in continental Africa, with wingspans reaching up to 3.3 feet. They're also a very sexually dimorphic species (meaning the male and female have a different appearance). The males have much larger vocal cords as well as a "resonating chamber" in their skulls, which helps them produce loud calls over a great distance when they're searching for mates.
These skulls are 3D printed in resin. The mandibles have been slightly thickened on the inside surfaces to make them sturdier, and the skull and jaw are all one piece (so the jaw is not movable like it is on my larger skull models). They're great as little additions to your bone or natural history collection, or as educational aids.
