Owl Pellet Tiny Rodent Bone Glass Vial Necklace
Owl Pellet Tiny Rodent Bone Glass Vial Necklace
This lovely necklace brings together the worlds of bird nerds and vulture culturists with a collection of tiny rodent bones encased in glass. Every little bone comes from an owl pellet! Add a little witchy touch to your wardrobe, gift to your favorite bone collector, or wear it as an ominous warning to your local small animals.
A 2.25" long glass pendant is strung on a thin 28" chain, all the better to layer with the rest of your spooky accessories. (If you'd prefer something shorter, just let me know in the notes section when you check out, and I'd be happy to customize the length.) You'll receive a single necklace; each is unique with a varying collection of wee little bones and are randomly selected for shipping. Two necklaces are showed in several of the photos to give you a sense of the variation, but please note that this listing is only for a single one!
If you like owls, these bones are a great memento of the services they provide for their local neighborhoods in the way of natural rodent control. If you like bones, you probably like owls for their contribution to the Vulture Culture as well! There's something really charming about the way owls will helpfully both collect and clean little bones for you.
The pellets from which these bones are harvested are collected from the homes of captive owls that I work with, and from the sites of wild owl nests and favored perches. Owl pellets can contain all sorts of bones, depending on what sort of prey the owl is eating; many species of owls will eat just about anything they can get their talons on, and others may specialize in certain types of prey. You might find bones from rodents, birds, snakes, lizards, amphibians, and other sundry creatures, but the specimens used in these necklaces are almost exclusively small rodent bones.
